Dear readers,
Firstly, I would like to thank you for reading through this website. Either you are curious about bullying or you are one of the victims. Whatever the reason, I hope that this message gets across clearly.
No one deserves to be bullied, in fact we should do our ultimate best to prevent bullying from happening in schools. Information provided in this website focuses a lot on the needs and services for youths in Singapore who experienced bullying in schools.
I chose to write about youths who were bullied in schools because I experienced it myself too. Yes, a victim here creating a website on bullying. It may sound funny but I am doing this because i do want more people to know that bullying is not a small issue and it affects many aspects of our lives.
I was bullied in school and I did not notice it till my friend told me that everything I experienced is actually considered bullying. Every time I did well for my tests, my classmates would laugh and tease me. I was always sitting alone in class and everything was so bad that I cried every time it occurred.
I went to my teachers for help and I am really grateful for them. I would not have made it through all the teasing without the encouragement from them. I had a few friends in school and they did what they could to help me get through it. The teasing did stop but, yes the scar in my heart will remain.
To those who are experiencing bullying now, you are not alone. You are never alone! I have went through what you guys are experiencing now. It is hard but i know that you can get through this. ALWAYS find healthy ways to release the pain you are feeling. Talk to someone and share how you feel.
Youths in Singapore, you can always call the Tinkle Friend hotline at 1800 2744 788 if you want a listening ear!
Lastly, I want to encourage you that YOU are strong, YOU are enough and YOU are worthy. You will get through this and I am sure of that. If I can, you can too! Remind yourself that "This too, shall pass."
To those who have never experienced bullying, its your time to do your part to prevent more victims. Do not be a bystander and help! Simply report and provide support to your peers.
Let's make our schooling life much more enjoyable for everyone! Do what is right for everyone!
Stay safe and healthy everyone!:)
